With the announcement of Rampage Jackson being cast as B.A. Baracus for the remake of The A-Team last week, the four-man soldiers of fortune team came one man closer to completion, the only key character missing being ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock, played by Dwight Schultz in the series. Now it is being reported that one of the breakout stars of this past summer may be close to landing the role as well as a pretty face to accompany them. From Variety:
Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley (District 9) are in final talks for Fox’s A-Team, opposite Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Copley will portray helicopter pilot Capt. “Howling Mad” Murdock… Biel’s set to play the ex-love of Cooper’s character “Faceman,” the general pursuing the team.
While I’m not exactly in favor of yet another TV film remake (haven’t the rest been bad enough to compensate for all future endevors?), much like the news about Christoph Waltz joining The Green Hornet, I love seeing Sharlto Copley getting work. District 9 was his first movie and he was absolutely spectacular in the role so any more of him is certainly a plus.
As for Biel as a general pursuing the team? Sorry, reality is on the other line. I have to take this. Call back later.
