Last week we reported that the final puzzle pieces for The A-Team were being put in place as Sharlto Copley was stepping into the roles of Howling Mad Murdock and Jessica Biel would be playing Faceman’s (Bradley Coopers) ex-lover and a general that is pursuing the team. Now that the dust has settled and those two have been officially signed, a new name has entered the cast list and some new photos of the team’s famous van have popped up online.
Patrick Wilson, seen most recently in last March’s Watchmen, has been signed to play a CIA agent, according to Empire and, more importantly, will most likely be the film’s major villain. Last week we sort of mocked the idea of Biel playing a villain so this is actually a positive direction for a film that will have a hard time giving itself purpose and reason (the question keeps popping up – why do we need an A-Team movie?). Wilson, though, is a more than capable actor who has to mearly outshine Rampage Jackson to get noticed.
Other news on the A-Team front is that we have now all been gifted with our first looks at the famous vehicular transport of the fortune-foursome during filming in Vancouver. We can’t host them here, but if you want to check them out head on over to SplashNews where they have quite a few. It’s nice to see that they haven’t changed the car much from the original series, but it isn’t that surprising (see: The Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch, etc.) If anything, it is probably a sign that the car will be the only thing that remains the same from the original series.
