Jon Hamm is Coming to ‘Town’

29 07 2009

Mad Men star Jon Hamm will be joining Ben Affleck and Rebecca Hall in The Town due in 2010 as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter. Affleck, coming off of 2007’s Gone Baby Gone, will also direct the romance-crime drama which is adapted from the Chuck Hogan novel Prince of Thieves.

I guess with all the down time between seasons of the critically acclaimed Mad Men, Hamm has decided to make his move towards well-deserved big screen stardom. And as much as I’ve been disappointed by the career of Ben Affleck the actor, his career behind the camera is promising. Gone Baby Gone was one of those surprisingly solid films that slipped through the cracks but is probably making the rounds on HBO and you should check it out (or Netflix it). Rebecca Hall is proving herself to be the anti-Bryce Dallas Howard after appearing in Frost/Nixon, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and The Prestige, and it looks like she may be getting a star-turning opportunity.
