Ok, Hollywood now you’re just pissing me off.

I can deal with product placement in movies, as tacky and poorly handled as they often are. I’m fine with you making more money off of merchandising too. If someone wants to buy a Spider-Man action figure that’s their business, at least it’s tangentially related to the product (and where would itsjustsomerandomguy be without them). But when I have to walk down the aisle a see Godfather-brand vodka that’s where I draw the line. Read the rest of this entry »


Watch It!: What’s Going To Happen To Marvel?

YouTube user ItsJustSomeRandomGuy has put up another winner with Marvel/DC: Disney Buys Marvel (Parody). As geeks worldwide now know, Marvel was purchased by Disney in an epic $4 billion deal that shocked the world two weeks ago. In its wake, however, fans have been left asking, “what does this mean for future comic-book movies?” There are, of course, two possibilities, but I won’t spoil the video. Watch It!: I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC: Deadpool and Green Lantern

Deadpool vs. Green Lantern

To celebrate yesterday’s egregious amount of comic-book film news, today’s Watch It! is about…comic book films. Taking a page out of Robot Chicken’s handbook, YouTube user “It’sJustSomeRandomGuy” has used what must be the world’s greatest action figure collection to create the “I’m a Marvel…and I’m a DC” video series, parodying both the “I’m a Mac and I’m a PC” commercials starring Justin Long as well as whatever is happening in the comic book universe.

The most recent video features Deadpool and Green Lantern discussing upcoming solo films – both of which are supposed to star Ryan Reynolds.
