The original Red Dawn was about the Soviets invading Colorado and C. Thomas Howell being a badass. We all know neither of those things were ever going to happen, but that didn’t stop the film from reaching cult status of epic proportions. So what does Hollywood do to all its creations with at least some popular appeal? Why, remake it of course!

Jason Patric Hates Losers

No, this is not a post to rile hatred for Jason Patric from those viewed as unpopular by “normal people.” Rather, Patric has been signed on to be the villain in the film version of the DC-Vertigo comic Losers, which already stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Idris Elba (Rocknrolla, The Wire), and Zoe Saldana (Star Trek).

It is the first true villain role and the first comicbook movie for an actor who is usually drawn to dark, edgy, adult-themed fare. Courted by Joel Silver (who produces with Akiva Goldsman), Patric was lured by the chance to work with director Sylvain White.
