There Can Only Be One… Highlander Remake

A Highlander remake brought to you by the studio behind Twilight, directed by the man behind Fast & Furious and the producer of xXx: State of the Union and Torque – yeah I can already see where this is headed. Summit Entertainment announced that Justin Lin will direct a reboot of Highlander in hopes of starting another franchise tentpole after the financial success of Twilight. Edward Norton is currently in Toronto for the International Film Festival where he is promoting Leaves of Grass, his newest film where he plays two brothers trying to take down a drug lord. During an interview with MTV, Norton dissapointed fans worldwide when he let this little quote slip:

Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau Play Cowboys and Aliens

After having so much fun together working on Iron Man and its sequel Jon Favreau has apparently joined Robert Downey Jr. on an adaptation of Cowboys and Aliens. According to the new blog at The Hollywood Reporter, the director has joined the Dreamworks/Universal project which RDJ has been attached to for over a year. Disney To Buy Marvel Entertainment For $4 Billion

Wow.

Disney agreed to buy Marvel Entertainment in a deal reported by the New York Times for $4 billion. In their biggest deal since acquiring Pixar in 2006, once finalized, this would give Disney control of Marvel’s licensing, publishing and film branches for the stable of over 5,000 characters including the X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man and countless others. Marvel Making Iron Man and Wolverine Anime; Teaser Trailers Up

Before The Dark Knight came out last summer, Warner Brothers did a brilliant thing: to explain what occurred between the first and second film, they made an anime cartoon that filled the gaps, giving loyal Batman fans something to wet their palate before the summer blockbuster. What they made, Batman: Gotham Knight, was fantastic in its structure, visuals and storytelling. The best part about it was that they got Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman from the groundbreaking 1990’s animated series, to provide Batman’s voice, which is nothing short of iconic.

Working off this same idea, Marvel has announced that they will be making Iron Man and Wolverine animes and have released two teaser trailers, which I will look at separately:
