8 10 2009

Gary Ross is the latest to try his hand at bringing the Spider-Man shoot-off Venom to the big screen for Sony. We told you last week that the Zombieland writing team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had submitted two drafts for the project, and Jacob Estes had worked on the project before that. Photo Dump: Avatar

Avatar

Spoiler Tv came through with some new high-resolution pics from Avatar that truly look incredible. I know this movie is getting all kinds of hype from everywhere but speaking for myself, I’m just that excited. There were an additional 20 minutes of footage that came out at Fantastic Fest that people are universally loving, and what I saw at Avatar Day and the footage from Comic-Con in real 3D is breathtaking. We won’t know for sure until December, but James Cameron’s track record I would expect this to live up to the hype. Photos after the break. Read the rest of this entry »

Watch It!: Willy Wonka Tunnel Of Hell Reversed

8 10 2009

Youtube user Mariofire has given us today’s Watch It! which is quite frankly one of the more disturbing things I’ve seen in a while. For some sadistic reason, they came up with the idea to flip the scene in the tunnel from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and play it backwards. The result is an angry German version of the chocolatier in front of an even more trippy background. If you’ll excuse me I have to go out and buy more chocolate to appease my new demonic overlord. Clip after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Forest Whitaker Debates Joining 50 Cent in Jekyll and Hyde

A few months ago we told you about Abel Ferrara’s take on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, set to star Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent. Black Dynamite Show Coming To Cartoon Netwok

8 10 2009

I don’t know how I missed this, but ‘El Guapo’ at LatinoReview reports that Black Dynamite will be getting its own cartoon series likely on Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. At a press junket for the film Michael Jai White said one of the people behind The Boondocks series (possibly Carl Jones) is behind this project.

White has experience doing voice-over work portraying Doomsday in the Justice League series. I’m just excited to get more Black Dynamite in my life. It dominated Sundance, the trailers have looked amazing and the viral videos are just spot on. We’re looking forward to seeing it when it releases October 16th. It might just have to be a double feature with Where The Wild Things Are.

Similar to The Black List here in the U.S., The Brit List is a yearly log of the best screenplays yet to be produced from the UK and Ireland according to industry insiders. Last year’s winner Nowhere Boy written by Matt Greenhalgh is closing this year’s London Film Festival.

Good Luck Anthony Belcher written by George Kay topped this year’s list and is described as a “fantasy comedy” which will developed into a star vehicle for James Corden. The full list courtesy of Screen Daily is after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
